"Science knows no country" - Louis Pasteur
Our Mission
In 1876 Louis Pasteur said: “Science knows no country, because knowledge belongs to humanity, and is the torch which illuminates the world”. 150 years later, at Pasteur Foundation-UK, we still believe that the next major public heath challenges will be better addressed by multi-disciplinary international scientific cooperation.
Pasteur Foundation - UK is a grant making foundation, supporting cross-border projects at the interface of multiple scientific disciplines between the Institut Pasteur and leading UK based research institutions, tackling global public health challenges. We invest in student mobility, multi-disciplinary research and encouraging impactful franco-british collaboration.
Our mission is to raise awareness of, and support for, these scientific collaborations . We are delighted to have already partnered with a range of UK universities, research centres, private companies and trusts and are excited to continue to expand our network within the UK.
Pasteur Foundation – UK is a private non-profit foundation, registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales. Charity number 1203634.
International collaborations are a key experience for any scientist and we believe this to be an especially crucial step for young researchers.

The Pasteur Foundation - UK Student Mobility Fund operates across all levels of higher education to allow early-career scientists to gain firsthand experience in the labs at Institut Pasteur and leading UK based research institutions. We believe this initiative to be essential in training the next generation of scientific leaders. We seek to make this key experience accesible for all young scientists, regardless of their financial situation through our fully-funded programmes.
Education
At Pasteur Foundation – UK, we acknowledge that the challenges we face today – whether in research, public health, medical innovation or public trust – are too vast and global to be solved by any single institution or country and thus we seek to promote mutually beneficial cross-channel research through strong partnerships with many leading UK institutions.

All our research projects are science-led and spring from organic connections between two leading researchers who have sought a collaboration due to the mutual benefit of sharing skills.
Research

We are aware that cross-border collaboration is only possible if researchers are given the opportunity to interact and explore opportunities with other scientists working in their field.

At Pasteur Foundation - UK, we are firm believers in the importance of scientific workshops, symposiums and conferences that give researchers the freedom to discuss, share and explore with no hidden agenda. The opportunity to discover potential connections and collaborations is key and we have seen many succesful Pasteur- UK partnerships that started in this setting.
