Education
International collaborations are a key experience for any scientist and an especially crucial step for young researchers. We are proud to support student mobility for British students wanting to undertake part of their education at the Institut Pasteur and we seek to make international exchange accessible for all young scientists, regardless of their financial situation.

Our Young Researcher Mobility Fund takes the form of masters program placements, full PhDs, joint PhDs and post-doctoral studies.

“International collaborations are a key experience for young researchers to learn how science functions in different countries. This is an excellent opportunity to gain lab experience in a new setting. Philanthropic support allows us to offer this valuable experience to everyone, regardless of their financial situation. This experience helps young scientists to make informed decisions about their next steps and to be competitive for future PhD, post-doc and other opportunities. Finally, it also brings young and enthusiastic individuals, who contribute in meaningful ways to the science happening in our labs.”
The PF-UK Student Mobility Fund
We understand that forging an early-stage scientific career can be expensive, particularly for students wanting to undertake cross- border experiences, something that can provide a key stepping stone in the career of a young researcher. Cross-border experiences have become increasingly difficult for British students, with American placements being costly and European placements becoming less accessible.

Our PF-UK young researcher mobility fund allows exceptional early-career scientists to gain first hand experience in the labs at Institut Pasteur and leading UK based research institutions. The initiative is essential in training the next generation of scientific leaders. The program operates across all levels of higher education, from masters to post-doctoral research, and has three key aims:

-
Education: Offering cross- border exchanges for young scientists to have an in-lab experience at a key stage in their early careers. This is a desirable building block for a research career going forward.
-
Accessibility: We believe access to education should not be a barrier. Our PF- UK Young Researcher Mobility Fund provides higher education for the very brightest students, regardless of their background through our fully funded programmes.
-
Impact: This programme has significant impact both on the individual young researchers who take part in a cross-border exchange and on advancing research into some of the most pressing threats to global public health.
