Stephen Brenninkmeijer
Stephen Brenninkmeijer is a private investor with interests in impact investing, education and environmental causes.
In 2007, Stephen launched Willows Investment, an impact investment initiative which supports non-listed companies and funds that use market mechanisms to address the most pressing societal challenges.
Stephen’s first experience with impact investing dates back to 2002, when, after 27 years of working with the family business, the concepts of venture philanthropy and social investing caught his attention. Having thoroughly researched the sector, Stephen launched Andromeda in 2003, the first bottom of the pyramid (BoP) private equity fund.
Stephen is a member of the Europe Council of The Nature Conservancy (UK), a Foundation Council Member of the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew (UK), and the International Council of the Global Leadership Forum (UK). In addition to Pasteur Foundation- UK, he is a board member of responsAbility Participations AG (Zurich),and sits on the Advisory Boards of Auticon (UK) and the European Business School (Germany).
